Role: Construction Site Manager

Salary & Hours: £50,000–£80,000 depending on experience and qualifications

Benefits: Flexible working hours, pension contributions, 20 days leave plus bank holiday

Location: UK-wide projects – travel required

Placement: Permanent, subject to three month probationary period

Description: We are looking for an experienced Construction Site Manager to join our team.

We specialise in the design and delivery of projects within the food manufacturing and industrial sectors, and we are looking for someone with strong practical construction experience who can take responsibility for the day-to-day management of projects on site.

The successful candidate will have proven experience delivering industrial buildings from the ground up, managing subcontractors and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality, programme and specification.

The role will include:

  • Managing construction activities on site from initial groundworks through to completion
  • Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site personnel
  • Managing site programmes and ensuring works remain on schedule
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety and site organisation
  • Monitoring workmanship and quality
  • Liaising with project managers, designers, contractors and clients
  • Identifying and resolving site issues as they arise
  • Managing site records, progress reporting and relevant documentation
  • Supporting the successful handover and completion of projects

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrable experience managing the construction of industrial buildings from the ground up
  • Strong construction knowledge and practical site experience
  • Relevant and up-to-date construction/site management qualifications
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to confidently manage subcontractors and multiple work packages
  • Willingness to travel to projects throughout the UK - will need full driving licence and own transport

Favourable Skills

  • Experience within food manufacturing, food processing or other industrial environments
  • Experience managing projects within live manufacturing facilities
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
  • Experience working alongside design and project management team
